Important Dates: May 21, 2024 Primary Election

  • September 14, 2023 – Last day for candidate who files for a major party office to be registered to vote as a member of that political party
  • September 14, 2023- First day for a County Candidate to file for candidacy
  • March 1, 2024 – County/City/District ballot title filing deadline (SEL 805)
  • March 12, 2024 – Last day for a County Candidate to file for candidacy
  • March 14, 2024- Last day for County Candidate to file Voters’ Pamphlet Statement
  • March 21, 2024 – County/City/District measure filing deadline (County-SEL 801, City-SEL 802 & Districts-SEL 803)
  • March 25, 2024 – Voters’ pamphlet filing deadline (measure arguments)
  • April 5, 2024 – Military & overseas ballots mailed
  • April 22, 2024 – Out of state ballots mailed
  • April 30, 2024 – Last day to register to vote or change your political party affiliation
  • May 3, 2024 – Ballots mailed to voters
  • May 21, 2024 – Election Day
  • May 28, 2024 – Last day to receive valid postmarked ballots by mail
  • June 11, 2024 – Last day to resolve challenged ballots
  • June 17, 2024 – Last day to certify election
